    Our Story

    Sam Derr, the owner of Elite Food Safety Training has been a certified ServSafe© Instructor and Proctor for the past 10+ years. Sam professionally trained as Sushi Chef at the world famous California Sushi Academy. Sam also provides ServSafe food safety training and Sushi oversight training for many U.S. Military Commissaries as "Sushi Sam". With experience and top line training, Sam learned very quickly on the importance of Food Safety and how crucial it is. EFST understands the physical and mental strength it takes to run a restaurant operation. The fast paced and ever changing environment inside a kitchen can be extremely complex.

    Elite Food Safety Training

    EFST has been offering Food Safety Training nationwide since 2008. EFST aims to help all of our students gain the most innovative training regarding food safety there is. With that, this will lead our students to increased productivity for their operations. A main priority of EFST is to constantly stay on top of any new changes with regulatory requirements for every state that we teach in to ensure our students have tools to implement food safety operations. When compared to other food safety certification courses we are recognized most by federal, state and local jurisdictions. Our ServSafe class and examination is administered by the National Restaurant Association and accredited by ANSI and Food Protection Conference.

    Our Classes

    Here at EFST we have flexible options for your team. We have many traditional online and on-site courses. Not only do we offer ServSafe Manager’s Certification training, but we also offer food handler’s training, allergens and more! ServSafe Manager’s Certification Training is an 8-hour course which includes a proctored exam. EFST offers the study materials, course and examination for only $175.00! We also have exam only and group pricing for your team with flexible options. Once you are ServSafe certified you will hold that certification for 5 years. At EFST we understand time is money, that’s why we provide a safe, professional conference room style training facility that will help your retention of ServSafe study material using a blended learning approach. We want you to enjoy your training and at the end feel like a real food safety manager equipped the knowledge you’ll need to handle any food safety problem. We also have online Food Handler's course that is only $9.95!
