September is here and that means National Food Safety Month! Food safety should be practiced every day, but ServSafe highlights it in the month of September.
Week 1 focuses on Personal Hygiene. This is a hot topic of conversation right now, and not just because of food safety. Everyone should practice good personal hygiene; washing hands, wearing clean clothes, etc. It is also extremely important when you work with food.
Food service workers should always follow industry guidelines for hygiene. That includes washing hands, wearing gloves, wearing clean uniforms, staying home when ill, among other things.
Information on how to achieve this should always be available to your employees. Lead by example and help your fellow co-workers adhere to these guidelines.
